Welcome to the homepage for the ‘Purity’ animated analogue clock screen for your wide screen Nokia E71 and E63 phone. The hands do move and shows the real time!

It’s a redesign of the original Purity clock for you guessed it, 320 x 240 pixel Nokia screens.  The only model that Nokia currently has as a ‘wide screen’ are the E71 and E63.  So this naturally is the Purity Series 085 for the Nokia E71 and E63!

Sure it looks plain compared to new versions I’ve done but what could be more classic. And yes I will be doing other versions in the near future.

The E71 and E63 are not like the S40 based Nokia phones eg. 6500 so it can’t run as a wallpaper. That applies to all S60 based phones.

BTW This version also overcomes the weird image quality issues I’m having when running it as a screen or power saver on the E71 and E63. It doesn’t happen on the regular 240 x 320 screen say the 6120.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Nokia has just released the E71 (July 2008) and it the only regular wide screen model in its range.  At 320 x 240 pixels the screen is a great starting point for a proper landscape screensaver.

Unfortunately the E71and E63 runs S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1.  Unfortunate? Why? Feature Pack 2 has already been released and installed on other Nokia’s!  Fortunately there isn’t too much of a difference between the two versions.

Flashlite 2 comes installed with all S60 3rd Edition so all these screen savers will work BUT the way Nokia has implemented it in the E71means that the way I designed the clocks result in them being rendered in LOW quality.

You can confirm this yourself be running the old versions separately - through Flashlite rather than as a screen or power saver. Hence I had to redesign it to negate the effect.
